Vidya
Our Project “Vidya” meaning “Education“, origining from Sanskrit, aims at providing basic education for children who are not able to afford it due to many extreme reasons.
Due to extremely bad financial conditions of the family, many a time parents tend to send their kids to work rather to school. As “Child labour” is illegal in India, parents are forced now to send them to schools, but they are not in a position to bear the expense of the education for their kids. There are numerous cases where kids don’t have parents and there are some cases where kid has only one parent and he/she is bed ridden/handicapped etc. Under these circumstances, it is highly difficult for the kid to study.
We, as an organization try to fulfil the needs of the education of such kids like providing books, uniform, school fees etc.
Education is the only asset which cannot be stolen by any other entity on this earth. Your donation opens up the future of helpless children seeking education. This education can be basic, primary, arts or any of its kind. Providing basic education to a child can change the life prospects of the whole family.
We try to provide every possible support and motivation, be it financial or moral, to the needy children to come to school. We provide help to such children and protect children’s rights in seeking basic education.
Your generosity can help provide education for several helpless children. You can join us for this program every year at the school starting time, i.e. mid of June
FAQ’s:
1. On what basis are the kids selected for this project?
A. Kid’s family circumstances, their financial position, their educational capability and willingness to study are major factors by which they are judged. As explained above, there are innumerable cases where kids don’t have parents or even if they have one, they are not in a position to bear the kid’s education.
2. How is my donation for the kid’s education divided and spent?
A. Normally, if the donation is enough to make the kid study for 1 year, we will spend the exact portion for the current year and then try to secure the kid’s future with the remaining fund so that he can complete his studies further. We take care of kids until their X standard and we don’t want to leave the kid in between their studies. We always try that the kid completes his/her studies with the funds available.
3. What if I am able to donate for more number of kids?
A. If your money is enough for 10 kids for example for 1 year, we will spend amount for 5 kids for the current year and try to secure their future for next year so that they can continue their studies. However, if donor wants it the other way, we are always ready to do what he would like to.
4. How many kids does this project target per year?
A. We would like to sponsor as many poor kids as possible. Year 2008, with the help of donors like you, we were able to sponsor 31 kids. We would like to secure their future for the coming years. In case, we have funds/we are able to generate more funds than what is required for these existing kids, we will definitely increase the number of kids in the up-coming years.
5. I would like to sponsor a kid for long term purposes. What should I do?
A. The best way is to donate on a regular basis (yearly) for the kid.
6. In which school is the program being conducted and what all areas are being covered?
A. As the organisation is originated in Anantapur, at the moment we are selecting the possible Govt. schools in the town and villages near by.
7. What if I want to adopt a single kid or couple of kids and sponsor their expenses directly on my own?
A. First, we would like to appreciate your thought. Yes, we do provide you the details of such kids and the respected person to contact. You can help the kid directly without requiring our interference.
8. What kind of report and details can I expect from you?
A. We give you a report based on the event we have conducted for this particular project. Every donor who has participated for this project, will get the project report which has the details about the amount spent, kids involved and their progress details.
9. I didn’t find answers to some of my questions in my mind. What should I do?
